You know Sears sales are always frustrating because, they say 50% off ALL Gearwrench but, it hasn't been that way in a couple of years at least. Usually the sale ends up being only 50% off those sets found in the local store and not everything online but, that's just my experience.

FYi - during the last sale a couple months ago I was able to get the 2 piece set of roto ratchets half off. Anything in the store that was gearwrench was half off. Just be nice and ask the manager. No problem!

the 4 sears's i go to only have the gerwrench x-beam, and regular ratcheting wrenches.

that is all.

then when you look at gearwrench's website, there is a whole bunch of different tools to get.

i wish sears carried the ratchets and everything else too.

im sick of walking into sear with my hopes up that maybe they will have stock of the other stuff, but no.

the sears i went to that had the biggest selection out of all the sears by me did impress me a little bit as they actually had in stock....the 1/4 sk flex head ratchet and allen brand hex keys and t handles, and also had the blow molded tool boxes in stock(just the boxes).

and that was all.

+1 that sears is shady with the wording. It really only applies to their main ratcheting wrench line, plus a few other items.

They sell the GW roto ratchets at your sears?? i have never seen anything but GW ratcheting wrench sets at my sears :( I would so pick up a set if i could get them for half off!

I remember a few years ago when I bought quite a lot of Gearwrench products from Sears. ALL Gearwrench products were 50% off w/ free shipping on orders over $200 and other what not discounts.

I regret not buying the Digital Torque wrenches that time. I thought it was a regular offer at the very least on a yearly basis. I was wrong. :(

Same [disappointing] deal as last time.

Me too. There were many 30% & 40% off sales often in close proximity to each other. Sigh, no more.

These offers seem to exclude online and catalog-only items, but without reason.

Just went on line to Sears and tried to order some large wrenches. Regular price $92.99 sale price $83.69 save $9.30

This is a long way from 1/2 price.

Typical Sears

That's a hell of a deal on the gearwrench roto ratchets.

That IS a hell of a deal for the roto ratchets... although I already have a full set of the HF version that i have yet to use.... should I upgrade to GW at this price?... :shocking:

Any opinions/reviews/first hand use on the roto ratchets? I should say that I just have the standard Craftsman ratchets at this point and one HF composite ratchet (never any experience with roto ratchet).

I really like my set of roto ratchets. Not wild about the on/off selector- takes two hands. The head has just the right amount of tension and the gears seem smooth.
The only thing that worries me is how long these cushion grips will last. No-problems with my grips but makes me wonder.

Never tried the HF version but it seems like a no brainer at this price.

So why do the ratchets go back up to $29.99 when I put them in my cart?

Theres an extra 15% off regular price tools only (and it shows the savings for some reason). Its a website programming fail.

I went to Sears a little while ago after I saw this. They didn't show them onsale inside the store but they rang up 50% off. I had been debating on the flex gearwrenches and they didn't have the locking versions so I got these 1 set standard and 1 set metric at 44.98 per set. Then I got another set of Roto Ratchets for 26.98 I would have bought a few more sets of the roto ratchets but I had to draw the line somewhere, lol
This is what I got for 120.00

exact same as the HF ones with a bigger handle

While they look similar they are worlds apart. The Gearwrench Roto ratchet is a near copy of the Snap-On and disassembles the same. The HF roto ratchet isn't serviceable and has a push button quick release. Buddy of mine cut one in half and it has a single sliding pawl on top of the gear. I wish I would have had my camera when I saw it. They still work great and are sure worth the money but just looking similar is as far as they get to being the same. I may disect one myself and post the photos

I went to sears today just out of curiosity in San Luis Obispo, CA and they did have all Gearwrench at 50% off. I ended up picking up the gear wrench ratcheting screwdriver set for $17.

Holeshot, are those roto ratchets Taiwan or China? How about the Flexheads and the screwdriver socket kit?

I think Gearwrench is China (not 100%). I have found the gearwrech stuff to work very well no matter where they make it. I've never purchaced the screwdriver set. I'm not in my garage right now so I can't see the packaging. I have to get it in my toolbox and lose the evidence in the garage trash can. The wife might want to get even and get a pedicure or something, :lol_hitti

Thanks. I have seen where Gearwrench is made in both places. I would consider the Taiwan stuff, not the China. Pretty pathetic when you have to feel good about getting something from Taiwan. The wrenches all appear to be China now, but I have a feeling the ratchets are still Taiwan. There is a difference.
