Been on here a few times now, always looking at some of the awesome builds, and also looking for reviews on all of the current products for floors etc. Thought I would finally share our little project.

When looking for a house I can across this, and had to buy it. Its a cape style house with the original one car garage, and garage door underneath. The previous owner then built a two-three car staggered off the side of the house, attached, with a large front door, and standard side door. He left it so you can drive a car in the side entrance of the new garage, straight into the basement of the house.

So currently I have the basement set up as our small race shop, and storage for the current car where racing, while the actual garage is storage and a place for all of the other toys to hang out, dry and safe from weather.

The garage was influenced after some old barns, building etc that I love, and also is to serve as a nice backdrop for my 53 ratrod project. Next to the 53 sits my old truck I used to race, with some of my crashed body panels up on display behind it, along with a "wall of shame"

Under the house is where everything for the subaru is kept, and the car is stored/prepped for each event. We also keep the bikes and tractors inside here.

Its very much a work in progress, but is finally coming along, heres some before pics....

We ended up using road millings for the driveway, came out pretty good, took alot of packing to make it survive the winter, but overall for the money very happy.

Some more pics, the usual scene on a Sunday where im not working...

There seems to be a **** load of photo's missing!!! Do we get to see the under-ground shop? What about the race stuff, wall of shame, Subarua (other than the light bar?!)....

The new floor makes a hell of difference I'm sure - any covering in store?

I threw up a few more, ill do a few nice ones in the morning tomorrow of its current set up, its not much but gets the job done well for us. As for floor covering, we threw carpet down in the majority of the shop, as funny as that sounds. We can get large amounts of it free, and its real nice being able to walk around barefoot downstairs to go mess with a project, just difficult if your changing fluids etc, have to be carfull. As for the garage, recently started doing the two part epoxy offered by costco, it works well for our needs, but, coverage has been a big issue. I thought I would get alot further than I did, but my concrete in that garage was really abused, the previous owner parked his plow trucks in there and didnt maintain it, so I had to have a lot of it re-poured, and then im using extra epoxy to fill in some of the voids as I coat. If I had the money I would have torn up the entire floor and started new, but I just cant at the moment, maybe in a few years...

Heres a few more of the car, currently its away at 137 Fabrications getting some final cagework done...

heres a pic from over the winter when our 3rd engine blew, you can see the walls were starting to get sealed, but thats about it at the time, its much further along now (the shop area)

Nice garage/shop. Looking forward to more pictures.

We were just racing (the two team Formula 1 vintage cars came in 2nd and 5th) at Lime Rock over Labor Day weekend. Very beautiful area, lots of high dollar cars in the Concours and on the roads coming to the show and races. The entire race event from Wednesday through Monday was organized very well. Our team of 5 cars was able to set up right behind the building at the starting line - very convenient.

I was browsing this thread and when I got to your subi, i thought "hey they looks familiar" and then looked through my txts on my phones to find a picture of it my brother sent me back in july. He bumped into you at a gas station somewhere, he was driving a tinted black audi wagon.

Very cool setup.

Hey Chris, Lyme rock is really nice, so guys have some insane money to bring some of those cars out, was the blue historic Bugatti there? We have a friend who races a vintage car, cant remember the type or class. Ill post up when I find out. Some of those people have insane garage setups.

Blue Dog, ill try and throw some more up before work. In short, there is none in CT, thats one of the reasons we stopped, to much money towing. Now its just a fun toy.
It has Bilstein coilovers in the front, full cage, and is in dyer need of an engine swap. I have the old 351 out of my previous bronco that were going to eventually swap in. The caliber of some of the trucks racing in baja are amazing, this is far from it, but plenty of fun. It gets alot of attention out here because there arent many like it out in the North East. Just a handful of us and most of us know each other. Some tow out to the dunes in Michigan.

RSR, I believe we ran into them at the gas station near some campus up there, we were almost out of fuel and were looking for somewhere to stop. We were coming back from a Mt Washington Meet, after NEFR. we gave him card i think.

Hey Air,

Nice to see your build here, looks great. I never realized your basement (which looks like the former garage prior to a 2 bay addition?) was connected to the 2-car bay. Regardless Im green with envy.

When did you get the MB? I've been looking to pickup a 86-87 cosworth 190e lately.

Thanks man,

The patio came out nice on your house, I was showing Sam the progress the other night.

The benz is a side job I have been working on, it hasnt been run in 7 years, been stored most of its life, so im going threw everything and getting it up to par. I rather do a car a month then work overtime.

Any leads on some cars?

Aw man, that's a great looking garage / shop. I love the lay out and how it flows from the attached garage to the shop under the house. That and the old aged wood interior are great. Excellent paint scheme with that brick read.

awesome truck, no bedcage yet, what you see in the pics is it unfinished. This truck was built out of some of the left over parts from my previous truck, which i flipped and destroyed. In the future yes, but its been put on the back burner since we started racing subarus. Ill have to look up your threads and see if you have one already up on your truck, looks like a blast. Have you every rebuilt your re valved your own coilovers? or do you send yours out? Its something I have been interested in learning more about

Nice I love the uniqueness of the space. Where are your cool toys(tools)?

all over New England lol

Still working on getting it all in one spot, and now that I have the space, working on purchasing alot more. Currently we do all the big work outside of the house.

and 930, the MB is a 560 SEL, car is huge, still has the original cell phone inside too, one of the old brick size ones with the cord.

its not easy, anything smelly i try and do in the actual garage, i still have a garage door, thats up in all the pictures, separating the two inside. So when that is shut, and a fan placed in the garage windows for exhaust its not to bad.

few more pics, floor is done in the garage (epoxy). Other than that been organizing and finding everything's place.

IMG_0890.jpg

its far from perfect, but the floor wasn't in the best condition to start with. We used the epoxy to fill in a lot of the low spots etc, i'm just happy to not have cement dust.

new garage door is getting delivered next week, for the side entrance to the garage, the old wood door has no springs, and is heavy as hell. Nice tax credit was available for getting one energy efficient, almost the same value of the door it self.

Neat set up, and cool toys.
I've had this same scene at my place many times.
How far do you have to ride to get to your riding area? I love riding right from the house.

thanks everyone. The trails are only a few houses down. From there, you can pretty much ride all day with just a few rd crossings.

RavgerSVT, I havent been on RPS for ages, my buddy has a few rangers that he has built that might be on there occasionally. Thats a really good site, my ranger scene has been put on the back burner for some time now, but i will never get rid of it.

In response to a post, you asked regarding rebuilding your coil overs, we run fox's and i have rebuilt them before, but normally i just change the fluid in them after every race and send them to fox in san diego to be rebuilt after 1000 miles of use. If you need someone in our area, contact
http://www.klmperformance.com/ ask for kevin, and ask him who can do that for you locally, he should be able to refer you to someone trustworthy.

New door was installed today as an early Christmas present from my father. Nice and insulated, and nice tax credit as well. Hoping this helps keep things warmer this year, its nice to get rid of the drafty old wood door that weighed about 10 times as much as this.
