Well, it's more of a remodel. Anyway, I'm starting this to document my progress and maybe share some tips or tricks, if I find any. The plan is to paint (done), install epoxy-coat flooring, new storage and shelving, install pegboard, and get a new workbench. Then of course, signs and banners.

These are the only real "before" pictures I have. What a mess. And it was so dark.

Here's the progress as of today. Garage was mostly cleared out and cleaned.

New roll up insulated door installed. I sprung for the heavy duty rollers. It works really smooth.

Big, big change in the space. Looks much better and is turning out nice. That particular two tone color scheme seems to work good in that space. Look forward to seeing more pics on the update.

Good luck with the floor installation. Good job.

Nice two tone color, was it to a specific measurement or did you accidentally paint above the line?

Sort of specific. On the back wall, the lower 3 feet of cinder blocks are thicker or doubled up, so it makes a little shelf. It seemed like a good place to divide the colors.

Time for an update. I got the epoxy floor done. I had a couple of issues, but in the end it turned out good. I still need to touch up some of the walls. The masking tape was a little too strong for the sheet rock.

Next I need to figure out storage. I want some nice cabinets with doors, but don't want to spend a ton of money. Actually the particle board shelves I have fit pretty good. They just look like **** now. I might try painting them, but I've heard it's a PITA. I'm still debating between pegboard or slatwall for the back wall. And of course wall art is coming.

The monster likes it's new home.

That looks great!

Please post updates with the wall art & the storage.

Why not put some doors on those shelving units & paint them in a contrasting colour to the white & grey? Perhaps you could pick out one of the colours of the paint chips on the floor?

I really like the blue of your car maybe you could use that on the cabinets- it just needs something else to break it up a bit. It's very stark & industrial looking at present. That said, you've only just started & once you add the other things I'm sure it will lose that hard edge.

Re: My 20 X 24 - Corvette Garage

I've made some more progress and thought it was time to post an update. Got some nice cabinets from a local hardware store. Nothing fancy, but they are large and can hold a lot of stuff. And they come in a nice Gray color. They're made by ClosetMaid. Got a cheap bookcase from Ikea for wax, rags, cleaners, etc. I didn't want to put these in the cabinets as I'm always reaching for one. Replaced the old workbench with a nice stainless steel one from Sears. It's really tall, like a bar. It feels weird to work on it at first, but then it starts making sense. Hung one of those ceiling storage racks above the garage door. And hung some appropriate art. I really like how it's turning out. Now I need to start using it. :bounce: Next on the list is pegboard over the workbench.

It's been a while, so I thought I post an update. Put peg board up and added a vehicle to the stable. 71 C3, 454 4 spd, factory AC, PS, PB. I love it. It goes well with the Z06.
