Well, the work has begun today on my new garage/shop. It's 34' wide, 24' deep, 10' high. It has a single insulated 16' x 8' door, a 36" insulated pedestrian door and 3 windows.

Here's the site plan:

Here's the layout, still working out details for the shop area:

Saturday the site was staked out:

Today they came, opened up the fence, put up the silt fence and sprayed the outline for the driveway and walls:

Excavator to come on Wednesday, formed & filled by Friday, concrete Monday? I hope?

Not too much to update today. Guys were back to lay in the mesh and backfill the form. If the weather hangs in, concrete gets poured Monday!:D Gas guys ran a new pipe from the valve around the back of the house and tied into the poly pipe. The electrician mounted the conduit and ran the tech cable from the slab form, in the trench, and into the house. That's pretty much it until Monday!:)

I could hardly sleep at nights when I built back in'06 cause I was always thinking of what I was going to do in my shop. Looks great!! Nice to see another from Ontario. I'm about 1.5 hrs east of you.

Very nice! ? how deep did they saw the cement? Looks like on the side it's very deep or is that just over the side cut? I did not have my slab cut and wished I did as the cracks go all the way across the floor.

Keep us posted and congratulations on the garage after a 24 year wait. Enjoy it!

That garage floor is filthy, Dave. Looks like mine, except I have doors so no excuse... :D

That's going to be a very nice space. I'm jealous!

Electrical Layout

Well, I think I have most of my electrical layout done for now. Enough to get using the shop.:D About 16 outlets, 14 F32T8/TL841 32 Watts Fluorescent Lamps, a ceiling fan, over head outlet for the door opener and a drop down cord, Compressor (still not sure of the location), natural gas heater and future 220V welder (someday ;) ).
