For those of you guys who read my Duralast Vs Snap-On ratchet thread here are some final opinions. Since I bought it sometime last month this ratchet has removed and installed 34 wheels and tires on everything from a Dodge Caravan to Tundra Pickup with the use of a Dead blow hammer to a 28 inch peice of 2 inch pipe with 3/4 heater hose slid down the ratchet handle. All my sons that come over to do the work on their vehicles were required to use this one ratchet no matter how big or small the job as long as the ratchet would fit in place. I've hooked it to a drill and run it in both directions for 1 hour non stop to get some wear on the teeth. I've beat the headbolts and main bolts out of a Big Block Chevy using a 4 lb dead blow and even hook it to the axle of my wheel chair and took off up to 5mph and then went instantly into reverce trying to break the gear but just broke the nut loose instead. I've done everything short of chucking it up in a vice with a 5 foot pipe and snapping it apart. It's been used as intended about 5 hours a day for 21(?) days straight and even torqued the headbolts on a 4.6 ford for the 90 degree bolt stretch on torque to yeild headbolts using pipe and heater hose.

I could break it if I wanted to but instead I used it to do all the things it shouldn't any many things it was made for. The end result? It still survives.

In all my years of working on cars I've never put any one ratchet to this much absolute abuse intentionally. I won't say it's better than any truck brand because I've never tortured another ratchet like this. It's not a real world test but it's hard to simulate a years worth of use in less than a month but it's more than exceeded my wildest expectations.

Conclusion is. It's a High Quality super tough ratchet that will go toe to toe with any other 3/8 ratchet on the market today. For those that want Tool Truck Quality and a Craftsman Price this is the way to go. 19.99 Incredible!!

Greatest test ever! Well, at least it is great fun to visualize it; pretty creative, too.

The ones I looked at the the local vato zone, I was not impressed at all. The ratcheting action was VERY stiff. I would almost bet a semi-tight nut would just wiggle back and forth before it would "click".

I would think with your knowledge and background, you would have a chair that could go faster than 5mph. Unless it is manually operated, than there should be some kind of disclaimer about "professional driver on a closed course, do not try at home", me thinks.

You have to have a programmer to plug into to up the speed my old one runs about 6 mph but the new one won't do but 5. The guy tried to speed it up but that as fast as it will go. I have a set of bigger wheels 10in I use when I go to car shows and stuff where the ground is so uneven and it will run about 9mph. Around the house I use the 8 inch wheels because I can get stuff off the ground easy. While 9 mph doesent sound fast in a wheelchair on rough ground you can't get to fast of you will get thrown out of the chair. When I went to Pinks all out in Monroe at Z Max dragway. I had the big wheels on. I was wide open coming through the pits and hit a small pile of sand. next thing I know I was looking at the sky flat on the asphault. The asphalt was about 140 degrees. Better to go slow, lol

At first glance, I thought it said "and hit a small child", I better read more carefully. I think you need even bigger tires than. But who am I to say, I am a stupid 24 year old. Good luck with your surgery!

9 mph is like a full run for an adult male. My chair is so responsive to the joystick that you have to develop a feel for it at 9mph. My sons were doing wheelchair drag racing with them on Labor Day weekend. It looked more like a demolition derby. Funny stuff at 5 mph

Not trying to be a **** or call you a liar, but this is something I would definitely have to see.
The review sounds great, but the before and after picts look the same.

I told you I was going to post up the video, The ratchet is only three weeks old. I put rubber hose on the handle when using a pry bar.

Thanks for showing what a lot of us already knew. Many of the mid priced imports are good quality professional level tools and in most cases Snap-On and such is 300% overpriced. I mostly own old american tools, becauce that is what is good quality used. But if I was a new buyer I would be all about the great value of quality import stuff like this. You know this review will be all over the web and get them many more sales. Good luck this week and thank you for making this site a better place.

Maybe the surgery details were posted in another thread....
what's the plan?

Leaking valve?
If you get a mechanical valve, use your auto stethoscope to listen to yourself.
It's a cool sound.

I would have never taken a Duralast tool seriously before this thread. All the best with your surgery and a speedy recovery, friend.

Sears and Craftsman can sure take some important lessons from Autozone's Duralast brand. Who cares if the raised panel Cman ratchets are made here in the USA, the newer ones are still junk and should be much better than they currenty are if they are going to boast USA on them. It's embarassing to have USA stamped on such an inferior product. Shame on Danaher!!

So where is this video????? Rigged like your other one I presume.
I can't lift anything more than 10 lbs for 2 months. This means push, pulling whatever. I rig nothing. I got out of the house for a few minutes today to see my dog. I shot the video while I was out at the garage with my camera.
