well, im putting this up because i have seen a lot of people in the past ask about these sockets but mostly people have been kind of hesitant to try them out (at least that's what i saw anyways). i was really curious about them too so i broke down and bought the 1/2 drive deep and shallow 6pt sets a couple of months ago and have been using them at work off and on up to now.

i should have taken a picture when i first got them because they looked pretty cool. i really liked the packaging. they came in the plastic boxes like you see on their site and you can indeed remove the top and use the bottom as an organizer. they were shiny and a little sticky from w/e it is they had put on the socket sets to store them. when you start using and cleaning them off though, they turn to the matte black finish. the laser etching on the side doesnt look like it goes deep and somewhat reminds me of scriber markings instead. the bottom part where its stamped though is clearly visible and look like they would last a long time. the durability of the finish on them is ok, im not going to try and test that out. the silver part on the bottom is bare metal, i've already got one or 2 that started to spot on me there but i keep them all lubed. my rachets that came with them already have the finished scraped off from being slid on the shop floor or being accidentally dropped. the rachets are ok but seem like they're stiff when they rachet. they're not snapon smooth or even craftsman 42teeth smooth, but they're still somewhat smooth (i just said smooth 3 times in a sentence, make that 4 haha). im not really worried about them, they're good for backups or using them in a box that's somewhere else. its not like i got the set for the rachets anyways.

as far as my stories on actually using them, they work like any other socket on the end of a ratchet. you can tell they're heavier, but its not like using an actual 3/4 impact socket, more like a regular 3/4 socket. no rounding off or anything, they excel in that department. as far as using them on an impact?well, they seem to be fine. i kinda get the feeling that they may not be able to last like a regular impact socket would, but that could just be me thinking about it too much. i tend to think too much sometimes. i've used them on my 1/2 drive impact and i used the 1 5/16 deep on our big inch impact at work. we had step downs from 1 inch to 1/2 trying to take the lugs off of a trailer because the studs were too long for the impact socket we normally use. we hammered on the first one for about 5 seconds before the 3/4 to 1/2 step down sheered off. didnt surprise me but the socket had little wear on the 1/2 drive end from getting at the very least 600 ft/lbs hammered on it for that brief moment and no wear on the socket end. none of the sockets i've used so far have a lot of wear, if any on the socket end. there's minimal wear on the 1/2 drive ends, but that's to be expected i guess. one of them i've used more than the rest has a little more wear i think which im kinda wondering about that. i'll post a pics of it later. i did however sheer off one of the 3 inch wobble extensions that came with the sets the other day using my 1/2 impact. im trying to get in contact with whoever it is i need to and get that resolved.

i'll try posting some pics on here i took with my phone and show you what im talking about. im just telling you my experiences with them so far, i couldnt find another review on them so maybe im the first? idk, if im not then w/e, i wasted an hr of my life lol. i hope this helps answer any questions you guys may have and if you have any that i didnt touch base on, i'll try to answer them as best i can.

I have the 1319D set that gets beat on daily at the boiler powerhouse with the Ingersol 2135TI "half-inch" impact, my son has the 1326M, and1326MD that gets abused at the Midas muffler shop he works in..
And I have the 1326MD that the 19mm is my "main tire iron" on the CP impact here when working on the paper-route car...The "gold letters for the size printed" are rubbing off, but the internal 6 point is holding up very well in all the sets.
We both have to keep the sockets in the blow-mold cases they came in to help find the size, but the impact sockets are a good deal for the price.

Sry for the late reply, I havent really had a whole lot of time to get back on here lol. Alright now, UPDATE:

I've been using them off and on and have found that they work just as well as any other chrome socket. The only catch to them is that they're not like craftsman or snapon where you can just put them on the ratchet any way. The hole on the side of them is the main way they stay on the socket so if you don't have the ball detent lined up with the hole when you put it on, it won't stay after awhile, but if you do line up the hole and the detent when you put it on, it's not coming off by no means. The ratchets are made the same way in the fact they'll work best with sockets in hole's in them like the ones they came with. Try putting on a craftsman or put one on that has the hole but you didn't line it up right on the ratchet, and it will stay on but it will come off eventually.

Impact use has surprised me a little bit. The walls look perfectly normal and the the 1/2 drive end wear is, imo, less than or equal to my snapon 1/2 drive swivel. If the 3/8 version hold up as well as these, I would recommend getting it and a 3/8 impact and be done with it. My only gripe with the whole set up is that an extension broke on me, which was resolved quickly so not really a gripe now i guess, and the finish is wearing off of them slightly, especially around the edges. Doesn't affect my view on them though, the finish wear is to be expected. I'd recommend these to anyone.

I also got the grey pneumatic 12pt deep and shallow impact sockets in 3/8 drive (not duo sockets) and they've worked out extremely well. Hardly any signs of wear on the 3/8 side and no rounding on the inside. I would recommend those to anyone too. I'll post some pics up later this week of both when I go back to work. I had pics but never got around to posting them and had to delete them for more space but like I said, I'll put some up

I bought the 3/8 drive set last year. Came with 7mm thru 22 mm in deep and shallow and 1/4 inch to 1 inch deep and shallow. I particularly like the range of sizes that it came with. Much larger than most sets. So far only one has broken and that was on me. I was trying to get a rusted up bolt out from behind a chevy hub assembly and was using a huge breaker bar. They warranted it out no problem tho. Also a couple years ago now I bought the 1/4 inch drive "master set" with metric, standard, shorts, deeps and swivels. Pricey but nothing near snap on or matco. Btw, My matco guy just told me that grey pneumatic dropped matco because matco started making a socket strikingly similar to the GP ones. I think they are called the ADV series.

I purchased several sets of the GP 1/2" drive impacts 4 years ago and they have been great. The ones that get used and abused have some of the etching wearing off, but those are the ones I use all the time. The insides are still like new and show no signs of rounding out. I have not broken any, even though with a breaker bar and pipe, I have tried. The picture shows the set in my cabinet. Good sockets at a reasonable price.

These are pictures I've taken for everyone to see the wear on the duo sockets when used with impacts, save one. The impact I've used them on is my 1/2 earthquake from harborfreight. I know, not IR or Snap-on but it puts out enough torque to take off lugs on a big truck at work, and they're all torqued to 500 ft/lbs. I know because I torqued them. The deep 1 5/16 is the one used for that. It's also been put on an inch impact I found out last week that actually puts out over 1000 ft/lbs of torque instead of the 600 I initially thought. One of the step-downs broke 5 seconds into it so it wasn't used on it long. I think the smaller one is a 5/8, and the other big socket that's shallow is 1 7/16 which hasn't been used on an impact. I just use it on fuel filters but you can see the finish wear on it fairly well. The set I got was SAE deep and shallow sockets. There's no rust on them at all, I think you can see something that looks like brown goo on one of them. That's the rust preventative I sprayed on them and it just happened to collect on that one so that's why they may all have a brown tint to them.

Here's the rest of what I have. I have the same kind of pictures for harborfreight sockets and gp 12 point 3/8 drive impact sockets and my 1/2 drive snap-on impact swivel if anyone wants to compare the amount of wear. Hope you guys like them and they help you out

I have the 1/4" Duo 89653 set, and they stay stowed in my daily driver. I got the set because it's very compact and complete for a 1/4" drive set, and very reasonably priced. They've seen moderate use over the past two years, and have not disappointed. Due to the fact that it goes up to 15mm/9/16" in both shallow and deep wall, I don't even keep a 3/8" set in the vehicle. Just some 1/2" stuff for wheel nuts and other big/high torque bolts.
