Craftsman Chinese Tools - List?

Does anyone have a current list of all the tools that Craftsman has outsourced to China?

So far the ones I have witnessed are the new Universal wrenches and sockets, the Professional full polished wrenches, quite a few of the ratcheting wrenches, the Professional locking pliers and today I saw that the crossforce wrenches are now missing the made in USA tag as well.

Technically everything but the screwdrivers have been outsourced to China.

everything sold in the Canadian Sears stores is imported Asian product save for the screwdrivers that are made in Canada.

The only new tool not Chinese made lately has been the premium ratchets. Basically all of the fully polished wrenches are moving to PRC manufacture. I saw PRC made stubby wrench sets today while surveying the holiday carnage today.

That is BS, I only bought Craftsman, because I thought they were made in the US.. I think I bought my last Craftsman product..

That is pretty sad... I used to buy only craftsman 50% because it was made in USA, and 50% because of no hassle warranty. With that said...there is less and less Cman in my tool chest!

I didnt even realize they were outsourcing ANY of their stuff to China until I joined GJ. Then I looked at a handsaw that I bought a couple of years ago...and what do you know! Made in China. Makes you realize that you really have to pay attention these days...

I realize that sears needs to compete,if they want to keep in the game; but if a person can buy the same tool even cheaper at HF with the same warranty,then what will happen to sears?

Exactly - it's going to be their downfall which will **** because we all bought lifetime warranty American products and paid the extra $$ for them to be American products. I paid $20 for an American screwdriver set where I could've paid $6 at Harbor Freight for the same stuff, and probably had gotten better quality, but I wanted a Made in USA set with lifetime USA product warranty. If they start changing that, then I'm done buying from Sears, and probably NEW US products for good.

I'm reminded of the Tommy Boy scene where he talks about brake pad warranties. "I can take a dump in a box and put a warranty on it, does that make it a good product?" I suppose I should've headed his advice

Really everything? I haven't seen PRC raised panels yet, I know Danaher makes Craftsman, so is it really Danaher that outsourced?

Well for every tool they sell there is a Chinese made version being sold up north except screwdrivers.

I have said it before but if I want a cheap chinese tool I will buy Husky or I guess now I could go to HF, now that there is one near me, I won't keep buying Craftsman if they still charge "Craftsman" prices for a cheap chinese tool.

Also the standard and impact sockets seem to be still made in USA, save for the Evolve line, which at least they are kinda delineating. If you see "Evolve", you know it's Chinese. I think that is how they should label it, they are being slightly deceptive and riding out the Craftsman brand name.

To be fair, even the Chinese tools these days are equal if not of higher quality than other American products.

I agree completely, keep Craftsman here in the US and send the cheap stuff overseas, but charge accordingly.

I have always loved the Craftsman stuff and grew up using it, but have not bought a craftsman tool in years and will no longer even bother looking through there.

The raised panels still retain U.S.A when that goes away it will really be a sad day and one I will list mine on flea bay!!!

I looked at my craftsman items I bought when I was in highschool. Everything was made in the USA back then, and that was only 20 years ago. I feel old !

Recently, I walked through the tool department of my local Sears on a weekend and the tool department was practically empty of customers. The sales staff were just standing around waiting for some customers. Sears is already seeing the results of their tool production decisions to outsource it to China.
Also, I heard on the financial news channel that Sears Holding Corporation stock was soon to be lowered to a "junk stock" rating.

I mentioned this elsewhere a few weeks back, but you can add the Craftsman branded thumbwheel ratchets to the made in PRC list. Saw this myself and held it in hand. I own the US versions that I bought about two years ago. These look and feel different but they've replaced the original, US made ones by SK. And no, the quality feels like **** in hand and the action is not near as smooth as before. Glad I bought my US-made when I had the chance.
