While brousing a catalog this past weekend, I noticed some soft jaw pliers that I thought I may be interested in purchasing. There are a grouping of 3 in a set. A pipe pliers, a slip joint pliers, and needle nose pliers all for $119.90.
These are made in Japan.

Does anyone know of a "professional grade" set of soft jaw pliers?
While assembling a show car, there have been times I'd like to have some soft jaws instead of wrapping tape around the usual ones. Seems like a very good plier with the soft jaws would help out. Perhaps someone from "Tools from the Old World" thread would know if they are available.

Thanks for setting me straight on the correct wording.
Searching 'Google' some are called "connector pliers" too.
The photo below shows the ones I posted above.

I have different types, some soft rubber, some harder like nylon. Nylon is more of a no mar type thing, the rubber is more about grip on a smooth surface.

At one time sears sold a package of plastic inserts that you could put on your pliers,in order to protect anything of value that you did not want to scratch up.

They still do. I bought a pack last month. $3 I think.
