Greetings everyone. This is my first post. I've enjoyed reading all the great info here.

I'm really interested in the linseed finish. I just can't warm up to the idea of epoxy, Racedeck, VCT, rolled mats, ceramic, or acid stain. It seems that good old concrete is the best way to go, but I need a finish that looks half decent and will repel oil and coolant. Concrete stain seems like a good alternative.

I just read a previous post about linseed oil. I was telling my co-worker a few weeks ago that I was tempted to dump 80w gear oil on the floor and call it good (I wasn't serious). It seems like linseed is the correct solution and its been used for a number of years.

Here's some links I've found. There's not much info, but I'll look into it some more and post anything I find.

Does anyone have picture of the mineral spirit/kerosene with linseed oil on concrete?

just be careful with that stuff and ventilate well. Jack London's dream home burnt to the foundation becuase the last coat of the linseed oil finish caught fire as it was drying.
