I'm truly running out of room. I got a 26 gal. air compressor for x-mas but our electricity in the garage can't handle it. We're adding onto our garage and adding a seperate breaker in the spring, so my parents decided to give me the money. I put it in my savings account and will purchase one later. My dad said I could have his middle box since it was empty. Well, his bottom box was practically empty too. I filled up his bottom box with his tools (sort of crammed in there, but he don't use them much) and i took his top and middle box, now i got plenty of room. Just figured i'd update you guys with some pics.

Pic of my toolbox, workbench, and dad's toolbox

You have an excellant start for a 15 year old. I'm glad to see a young man spending his money of tools. So many young people just blow their money of stupid stuff. Reminds me of me when I was 15. I only had a set of 26 wide boxes and a bunch of used tool I was buying off other mechanics

i think i was 12 when i got my first snap on toolbox. the only problem was that i only had enough tools to fill the first 3 drawers.

the hunt was on and before i knew it, (end of the 8th grade) i had all the drawers full with used snap on tools. a 60 gallon compressor, parts washer and a vehicle in the driveway.

your on a good road to follow. keep it up and you will have a KRL snap on box by age 17

I'm truly running out of room.

You're not even close to running out of room. You can still see the bottom on the drawer. There's a lot more room in there.

It's when you have trouble opening the drawers that space becomes an issue :bounce:

You have a good solid diverse selection.

nice start to a tool collection at only 15 years old!

Its interesting how some people have lots of SAE, or alot of Metric stuff. Seems you work on a lot of sae stuff. You mentioned snowmobiles, pretty much every ski ive worked on is metric?

awesome. I wish I was there when I was 15. I spent a good bit of money I made from cutting grass on tools. gotta start somewhere and it looks like you are way ahead of the game.

Off the bat... it doesn't seem too safe to be putting all those large sharp objects on top of your bench.. what if you are banging away at something on the bench top..and knock the wall by accident. Hello shears! :lol_hitti

That's an impressive set-up, Indy. I bet your folks are proud that you are investing in something that will last many years and that will positively influence you.

almost all SAE stuff, hardly ever touch my metric stuff unless i'm tearing apart the motor or clutch on my sled. 95% of the nuts/bolts in the rear suspension are 9/16" so that's my most commonly used size.

Great set up Indy! I can't wait to start "handing down" some stuff to my kids!

Say, are you gonna be buying a car before your 16th? Maybe you have one and I missed it. I bought my first car at 14 and had ti rebuilt for my 16th B-day. The morning of my 16th I dragged Mom to the DMV!

But I didn't have the tool collection you do - you'll have them forever!

No Car :( When i get my license I wanna get a job, so maybe a car then. Or maybe i could get one for my 16th birthday? I haven't really worked on cars/trucks yet, other than one of my grandpas old crappy ones since my parents think i'm going to "break" theirs. But, they trust me a lot more when i was able to strip my sled down to the frame, and put it back together and have it run great for 500 miles so far this winter (other than the bolt holding the shock in almost coming loose and making lots of noise! :) Luckily i carry a HF wrench set with me while snowmobiling)

The one's that don't say "Pittsburgh" anyway:lol_hitti

I kid I kid. Good collection for such a young kid, maybe in a few years you will catch up to me:thumbup: I recently invaded my parents shelves in the garage, so the tool box is now only stacked with a mild amount of tools. Instead of 3 layers of pliers I only have 2, but my wrenches are still on top of my impact stuff. Maybe we should buy a snap on tool box and you can have the top and I can get the bottom:beer:

What a great start for such a young fellow! You've got more stuff than I had way back when I graduated A&P school. Keep adding to it!

I don't know what it is. I have absolutely no desire to ogle another man's wife, house or bank account but I can drool over pictures of his tool collection on the internet. It's an illness. I'm quite sure of it. :bounce:
