VCT GLUE walk on?

hey guys,
I got my floor all prepped up. now i'm ready to start up the lay out process.

My question is: do i spread the glue all over the floor, let dry then i can walk on it to start laying tile?

or do i do half the floor with glue and start the first row of tile then start working out and step on the newly laid tile?

The way I have always done it is to find the center of the room and start there doing one corner so to speak at a time . Usually I will put down enough glue for 2 to 3 rows of tile at a time.

thanks rick! can i walk on the freshly laid tile in order to continue laying more tile?

Yes but " walk lightly " . You can still move the freshly laid tiles just by walking on them so try not to walk on them if you can help it but if you cant then walk carefully and watch the tiles as you walk

Before putting the glue down snap a chalk line on both the "x" & "y" and have their intersection close where your going to start. This way you can glue the whole area before you start not waiting for glue to dry. A simple box fan blowing over the freshly glued area will really speed up the waiting time. Don't try to jump the gun thinking that the glue is "dry enough" you'll regret it down the road when it starts to ooze thru the cracks. I was a hard surface floor covering installer for 14 yrs.

still kind of confused. can you walk on the "dry" glue to get to the middle of the room to start laying the first tiles?

Yes you can walk on it but honestly why would you when there are other ways of doing the task without walking on it? The more you walk on the dry glue the less "sticky" it'll get + the bulk of the material to lay won't be at your side anyhow.
