I keep a rectangular steel wedge and round tapered bull pin near my welding table to use for various jobs where something has to be physically forced apart. Not something one uses a lot, but often, nothing else will do as well. The rack is made of 1/8" X 2" X 2" steel angle, and the holes are sized to capture the wedge and pin upon sideways and vertical insertion. The holes were drilled, slots sawed, then the rectangular slot was filed to shape. The wedge and bull pin are about a foot in length. Paint is my usual Sail Blue Rustoleum.
