New Cornwell Blue Power Sockets

So the Cornwell truck stopped by today and he had some new sockets: Cornwell Blue Power. The ones I saw are made in Taiwan/China and are about 1/2 the cost of standard Cornwell sockets, although he didn't have any priced yet. He said they are to compete with Blue Point, Silver Eagle and Mac. :lol_hitti (JK)

I fondled some impact sockets, and they reminded me of Harbor Freight impacts, only grainier.

Just wondering if anybody here bought some yet, and what you all have heard about them.

Are these brand new? I'm surprised they didn't come out with something like this earlier.

I wonder who the OEM is?

I understand the need to have more affordable options to remain competitive but, I still hate to see the Cornwell name and brand dilluted with more imported tools.:(

agreed. They're already niche as far as truck tools are concerned. I'd think their time would be better spent trying to manufacture more tools under their own rooves.

Unfortunately, from my angle, the difference between Harbor Freight and the tool trucks (besides price) diminishes by the day. :( The Cornwell man assured me if I broke a USA socket it would be replaced with a USA socket.

Yes, these are brand new. It sounded like my rep had to order them special, like possibly only as a whole set. He didn't really elaborate, and I was wondering what others had heard.

They are brand new. They are still sending out the first wave of orders. Cornwell listened to the dealers from all over the country. The dealers listened to there customers. These are that alternative that every other truck has. It is what it is! I personally have not ordered any because I offer Armstrong as an option that still has the USA stamp on it. I will order from time to time Grey P for customers that already have the stuff. The local MAC guy and the Independent sell the grey. If my customer wants it I order it. I would prefer the Cornwell Chrome in there box but I understand that not everyone can foot the bill. As long as its warranty we are in good shape.

Makes sense to me...they are responding to what customers are requesting and actually purchasing. It's not Cornwell's fault - it's the customer's.
