This is a nice idea! It appears that you have simply added the left side wall down the middle of a "typical" steel carport ... correct? What do you use the other side for?

These steel carports get a rather bad rap. Although they are certainly not high quality structures, the are inexpensive, quick to erect and with the many options available such as side walls, end walls, roll-up overhead doors, rtc. they become very versatile. Mount them on a concrete pad or on a mini-pole barn base and you end up with decent shelter.

Your setup looks great to me! I have a carport similar to this and had considered doing what you did with yours. What kind of door do you have on the end? I'd like to see some pics of that and the other side of the center wall, I assume you might use it for parking a car or truck.

Now that is sweet. That is an inspiration to me.
Was it easy to hook electricity to? Plus how do you keep it heated in the winter?

wow that looks great! you sure had your thinking cap on for this one =)

you should throw some vct tiles down on the floor.
its not a large area so its not going to cost you alot.
sand the tiles down & put some clear coats as well. =)

I found some 3'x6' shelves that have 3/8 particle board and the shelf, for 26 bucks I might buy just to have something to put light stuff on.

Good use of the space you have!
I have a carport somewhat like that and when it gets foggy out dew builds up on the inside and gets everthing wet (mine is open on all sides). Does that happen with you? Wouldn't mind keeping mine but kind of a pain.

Man, that's an awesome little space you have there. I worked for years out of my 10x20 garage. You can do a lot if you just think things out and stay organized.

I love it! That's what Amarican garages are all about, the little man making it without the big store bought stuff. I have the same welder, good for you!

good use of space, is that your chevy parked up close to the car? I love 88-98 chevy/gmc's, that one looks nice!

I like posts like this, gives me inspiration. Before I retired and moved to my farm I had a small single wide garage in Alaska that I really enjoyed and we had three motorcycles in there, a couple out boards, tools, shelves etc and we used it as a hang out in the winter.

You done good man. Any chance the ole lady will let you have the other half of the carport?

Well it still working good for me, building a bike restoring gas pumps and doing general work out of it daily, she's small but it gets the job done..

That's a great shop. Looks very comfortable to work in and very nice to look at. I like the idea of an open carport next to the shop. Great Job!!

Best Regards
