Nice, which state do you live in? I'm in IL, where we could pay for light bulbs to be used in government buildings, but never actually see any

I'm in Oregon, I emailed the people about lighting incentives and they were amazingly helpful. I expected red tape and usual crappy government attitudes. They recommended all kinds of good fixtures for me and wanted to help calculate the total cost/energy savings and seem very ready to give money away. I'm converting 2x 8' T12 HO 110w fixtures, with six T8 bulbs in place of 2 T12s. I'm going to wire it so that I can turn on strips of 1,2, or all 3 tubes.

They're also paying to replace my incandescent outdoor lighting with metal halide, and pay extra for night time and occupancy sensors. Not paying for the whole project, but most of it.

I think this is the first time tax dollars have worked directly in my favor! I encourage everyone here to check to see if their state offers any lighting upgrade inscentives like this, I didn't even know about it until recently and was thinking about paying for the whole project myself.

Here in NE Ohio the electric company wants to send every one 2 60w CFL's......and the charge us more than $22 for the 2 lamps!!! Nice huh!
