110volt mini split for small area.

Does anyone he use a small 110 volt mini split for a small area? Does it cool enough?

Only want to cool 96 sqft but there are also food warmers in there and the window gets opened allot.

There should be plenty units out there. I installed a 230v unit (12kbtu) which they also make in 120V at same SEER factor. I'm cooling 650ish sqft of uninsulated space at the moment

1200 watts = 4092 btu's
600 btu's per person
12,000/ 1 ton unit should be more than enough

I just installed a 9000 BTU unit (smallest one you can get) in my 1-bay garage. All the calculations I found showed the 9000 BTU unit was more than enough for my 225sq ft space. Even with an un-insulated roll-up door and un-insulated attic (just 5/8 drywall), it keeps it 72 degrees just fine. I think if you have 96 sq ft, then a 9000 BTU unit will be more than enough even if it's leaky and has windows, etc.

Depending on climate and insulation, I would say a 6k window unit would more than suffice. I'm potentially doing that for shop bathroom as my mini splits will be separate.

I have a Senville 120v in my home office that works great. Was easy to install and is very quiet and best of all keeps the room comfortable even with a fair amount of network equipment and computers running in there.

What brand is the 9K? I know I've seen one from Bosch. Curious what else is out there.

Pioneer answered this question - Theoretically a 230v should be more efficient, but practically they work about the same.
