12 volt De walt Drill

l have a 12 volt De Walt Drill.
Of course the batteries are bad.
otherwise the battery charger and drill are in good shape.
Are these 12 volts worth buying batteries for?
or is the 18 and 20 volt that much better, that It is not worth it.

You tube will show you how to rebuild the batterys if need be. But the 18 and 20 volt drills can be had for a very good price around the holidays. O go with a factory refurbished one at a discounted rate.

If it is the post style batteries, you can get aftermarket ones for around $20.
If you dont use it much, you might go that route.

They have a well established 12V Max lithium line that was released IIRC in 2010. The battery packs are the slide style.

Yeah, they have a 3000 mAh set of 2 on e bay for around $40.00

I still have my Dewalt nicad 12v drill and impact, I bought some battieres off Amazon a couple yrs ago, they don't last that long. Kinda torn to upgrade to lithium set up. Sales should start soon.

I have the DeWalt 12-volt drill and really like it. Have found brand new OEM batteries on eBay, cheap.

They don't really. When I bought my Bosch 10.8 volt lithium battery impact driver and got the bonus drill they came with 10.8 volt batteries. One day I was in HD and I see a battery that looks like mine but marked 12 volts. I called Bosch to find out if I could use it. The person I spoke too explained that when fully charged, the 10.8 volt battery briefly reaches 12 volts and all their competitors were marketing their 10.8 volt batteries as 12 volts so they had to do the same or appear under powered. I recently found out that Bosch still calls it a 10.8 in Europe. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Ive had no problem with the PowerExtra brand stuff ive used. YMMV.
