If I read everything right I am good with 2 hots and a neutral in 1 gage thhn and a ground in bare 8 gage for 125 amp sub in 1 1/2 emt?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Attached or detached?
wire length?
#1 is correct for 125a but #8 is too small for the EGC. Need #6.
Aluminum will be cheaper
What are you feeding that needs 125a?
Use a green stranded #6 THHN/THWN for equipment ground, not bare solid.
This is for an attached addition and garage. Basically a mother in law suite and a good size double garage. LP gas heat/stove. 12k mini split and an electric drier are the major loads.
This should have been done months ago but I am running behind.
Just checked the big electrical supply house (local). They do not carry any form of 6 gauge wire in green. They carry 5 other colors and bare solid but no green.
