14-3 now flat?

I've been using up my existing roll for the last couple years, but today I had to buy some new 14-3 rolls, and it appears that it's now flat like 14-2? Big improvement, IMHO, as it staples down much nicer then the previous twisted/round 14-3.

Running 14-3 to all my new porch ceiling recaps, so I can switch one side and have the other side constant on, perfect for Christmas lights

Perhaps this is just a brand difference, my former stuff was all Southwire, looks like they've switched to Cerrowire now.

Are you sure that you did not buy UF cable instead of NM? UF 3-wire w/G is flat.
