I have always loved my dw920 nut it was well used when I bought it years ago. No battery no charger so I converted it and used a bulky dc power supply to use it. Last night it gave up the ghost. I find on marketplace someone selling one for $10.00 and contacted them. When I went to see it the guy turned out to have been a service manager at the old Towson factory. The dw920 was brand new but only the drill and case I paid him and he said he had another one with the whole set never used with everything. He asked if I was interested and I said yes. He asked for $20.00 and I snapped it up What a find I charged the 2 batteries and it was perfect.

Pics or it didn't happen! :needpics:

lol, just joking. Dewalt screwdrivers have always been a shorter-lived item than their full-size battery tools. Glad you managed to find a replacement for the one you liked most.

I have a Dewalt Gyro screwdriver (DCF680) for years and luved it. Best cordless screwdriver ever. The twist motion was the most intuitive and easy to control design. I remember it felt weird AF for the first few minutes and then I didn't even want to use any other any more.

I showed it to my brother and he really liked it, and asked if he could borrow it, and then he brought it back destroyed covered in some type of construction adhesive. I don't what happened or how. I guess I was too mad to remember what he said at the time. It sort of still worked after I used a chisel and hammer to get the battery out of it but it sure wasn't the same tool after that. I let him take it and he promised to buy me a new one, but that was a couple years ago and turned out they're sort of unobtanium any more. He swore he was going to find one or pay the $300 or more people are scalping them for on ebay these days, but I haven't seen it yet.

I've got a Milwaukee 2401 M12 screwdriver and it ***** so bad. It does have a little more power than the Dewalt Gyro did, but the clutch setting is terrible and I hate using it for anything. It just makes me want my Dewalt back even more.

Eventually he'll make up for it. It's sort of his MO, like when he borrowed my framing nailer than ran over it somehow and had to buy me a new one. This reminds me I need to press him again about where's my new gyro screwdriver. Pretty sure I saw the new ones still do show up from time to time somehow at Lowes and on Amazon.

I will post pics I someone tells me how. And about your brother it sounds like the check is in the mail and I won’t c@@ in your mouth, lol. Hope that’s okay to post sorry if not. I found info on the Dw920 long time ago and the switch and motor was capable of handling 14vdc so I tried. It bored through a seasoned real 2x4 with a spade bit in a flash Thank for the response. If someone tells me how to post pics I’ll show the 5 20v max Dewalt tools I picked up for $30.00. 2 right angles and 2 1/2 “ regular drills and a cordless sander.

We had a couple of those at the shop and they were damn nice drivers. Why the hell Dewalt stopped making them is beyond me, those crappy Gyroscopic drivers are a joke.

The guy I bought the 5 lithium pieces said his contractor boss used them till they stopped working. A good cleaning on all a new drive belt for the sander and new brushes for the hand drills and back in business. I know I’m bragging about my finds but I’m so tickled about it all sorry if I’m being rude.

What is so special about them? At the time these were out I was a manager at a place that had a contract with Dewalt, they came once a week to take and fix the broken stuff and leave loaner tools. The cordless drills at the time had good clutches for finish work, Hard to access places a right angle cordless was used.
