2" or 3" Roloc pad?

Which is more useful for paint removal and body work?

Also, is there a difference between "Roloc" and "Rolon" pad attachment?

What I did was to buy both the 2" and 3" attachments but I only have bought 3" discs so far. When they get too small for the 3" I take them off & separate them to use them with the 2" attachment. The 3" worked well for what I have done & are quite a bit bigger than the 2" so should last longer, 2" would be useful in tighter areas.

I only use the 2" one when I need to get into tight areas or when I run out of 3" discs. I have 2 angle die grinders, and keep a 2" on one and a 3" on the other, but the 2" probably gets used maybe 10% of what the 3" gets used for.

I use a 2" backing pad. I buy 3" 3M Imperial series roloc discs. The imperials are very expensive, however they cut better, and last a lot longer. They are built on their own plastic backing pad. When using a 2" backing pad, you can trim the roloc edge off as it wears, until you hit the 2" diameter pad. Just spin the die grinder while holding a small cheap screwdriver edge to the back black plastic of the imperial roloc, and you'll zip off the spent area.

In the end, its cheaper than buying regular roloc discs.
