2 Post Lift Install Manual Help

New to the forum.

I bought a used Benwil T-Pro-7 car hoist. Does anyone have a link to where I can find the install instructions for this unit?

This unit has the posts parallel to each other, but the arms are skewed to one side and are different lengths.

Looking at one of these, haven't been able to find much out there. Does anyone have any installation instructions sitting around? I can probably figure it out, but it would be nice to have for reference. Thanks

Thank you. The GPO-7 is a different style lift. I’m primarily trying to find out the correct approach direction for it and to see if the long arms are supposed to go in front or back of the vehicle.

Long arms rear. These are not great diagrams but they are at least the correct diagrams pages 7, 8, 9, and 10. (look at the arm names in the parts list).

You can obviously turn the car around the other way, but most everything on the road is lighter in the rear and that's why they do it that way.

Don’t know what your manual says but when I bought my used rotary I ask the guys taking like ten of then down if they had any tricks for putting them up. They said after you put the first column up put the top cross piece up next and then put the other column under it. It worked great for me.

Thank you. I did find that brochure as well. My lift is on pages 7-11. The guy I bought it from was selling it for his deceased father in law, so he was pretty sure that long arms were in the front but long arms in the back seem to make more sense.

Other question I have, is what is the max amount the lift can be shimmed beore I need to take out a slab of concrete in my shop and re-pour it so its perfectly level.

Can't say for your specific lift. But mine, which is a Hoffman asymmetric lift, says not to exceed 1/2" of shims.

And yes, as already mentioned, long arms towards the rear.

Got the lift assembled, installed and wired up! Yay!

On first full cycle it appears the cylinder seal blew as it was leaking a good amount of fluid.

The seller sent me videos of it operating a few days before I picked it up and it all seemed fine. You could not hear the burping of fluid out at all.

Could it have been damaged somehow in taking it apart, transport, or air in the system or anything like that when I put it back together?

After a used lift has sat for a while it is pretty common for the seals to rot… they are not expensive nor hard to replace.

Sorry, was not clear... When using it, usually after pausing the lift, it hisses and spurts air and fluid out of the seal and made a good size puddle on the ground.

I was able to raise the carriage all the way and disconnect the piston from the base and the hydraulic line. I was then able to pic up the cylnder and and piston and pivot it out of the base but the top fo the cylinder housing is still stuck in the carriage. I am at the point if anyone knows how to properly remove it from the Benwil T-Pro-7

I have put a crow bar under the bottom of the cylinder and pried up , it’s usually just stiction that keeps the cylinder from collapsing.. once you pry up abit it should collapse down. Providing the hoses are disconnected first .
