24 or 22 gauge for Telco

Here's the scoop. I'm extending a plain analog telco line about 100 feet from the demarc that's in my house. Will I gain any difference in performance by using a Cat6 versus Cat5e ---this will be run via direct burial.

BOTH of the DB on C5 or C6, the wire specs is 24AWG

Telco wire is 22AWG

Unless you are running miles of cable, there will be no difference between 22 and 24 AWG.

DB is flooded...

I was acutally surprised. When I looked at the tech sheet for Cat6DB, I was assuming/expecting 23AWG.

This is USA made Enterprise brands stuff....not no-name offshore cable

I don't think it will make cat 6 specs unless it is 23 gauge.

really not important for your application however.
