25-30 year old Milwaukee Grinder

I have an old Milwaukee 6145 angle grinder with a s/n of 627-19730.
I think it is late 80's early 90's from what I can tell and the paddle switch keeps hanging up after I release it and stays running.
Worth getting the switch replaced or is there a simple fix for these? Or is it time to cut the old girl's cord and let her go?

Contact Milwaukee. I went to a local tool repair shop and they were able to source basic parts for my 70s 80s drill if they don't have it I would get creative with non OEMS (be safe) and maybe file out some metal to clear a modern switch to work before throwing it out. If you decide you want to chuck it, I'll send you a self addressed flate rate box!

I almost cut the cord off and tossed it this afternoon.
Couldn't do it, so I came in and started this thread.

Are these older pieces really any better than the new ones?

Eh, somewhat. Power tools have come a long way in ergonomics, weight and features, IMHO. Some older models are difficult if not impossible to find parts for. If what you have is the one I think you have. Those really aren't all that old. Does it have a plastic red handle? The all metal tools are the ones you have to be selective on.

Blow it out real good I have had issues with dust making my Makita angle grinders stick may be the same for Milwaukee.

O yea, those are still pretty modern. Worth saving, but I wouldn't put much $ out for parts.
