3 pt drag harrow.

Well, I bought a drag harrow from TSC to do my driveway, but...although it worked great, it was less than ideal to use.

A. I needed it to follow the tractor better in turns to get the outer edges of the driveway.

B. I needed to be able to lift it up at the end of the driveway, so I don't drag all the gravel onto the street.

C. When using it with the tines down, and it fills up with grass/sticks/etc., it ***** to have to pull over, jackknife the tractor, lift the harrow by hand and shake it, then move it over so it doesn't go back in the pile of trash you shook out.

D. I want to see how well it works at ripping out some ivy on my property, but can't do that without being able to back up to it, set it down, then go forward, plus again wanting to be able to lift it to clean it.

So...I dug in the old scrap metal bin, made a trip to TSC for some Cat. 0 pins and chain...and came up with this:

The high frame and chains still allow it to float like it needs to. It raises 12-18" or so.

Looks like a nice setup. We used to have a drag harrow similar to that, albeit mounted on its own chassis (pulled it behind a disc). It utilized a hydraulic cylinder in lieu of the top link on the 3 point, and pivoted around the bottom links, which allowed a bit more clearance underneath (but 12-18" should suffice for you).

You may want to consider adding a few links on the back of the frame, so you can drag a hunk of telephone pole or other large, heavy lumber, to smooth the driveway behind you as you drag it.

The other thing I really like about your design is the nice square top frame. If you slapped a piece of plate or expanded metal on the top, it'd make a great carry-all/work platform, that would be more than sturdy enough to hold anything that a Cat 0 hitch can hold.
