30x48 lighting plan

The size is 30x48x12 with white painted osb walls and ceiling.

These are the fixtures that I plan on using.

I was thinking of using 24 fixtures for a total of 48 bulbs at 2800 lumens per bulb, spaced per my attachment.

Also was thinking about 8 additional fixtures along one 48' wall about half way down for extra lighting.

Does this sound like a good plan?

So, each location on your diagram is a pair of 48" two-bulb fixtures side-by-side?

If so, why not space them out more, rather than pair them up?

If you put them in rows end-to-end, and added another row or two, evening out the spacing to accommodate six rows instead of four, you'd still have 24 fixtures, only in six rows of four, evening out the coverage.

What does the floor plan look like?
Are you lighting for maximum coverage, or alongside of parking bays?
Where will the workbench be?
Are there going to be cabinets over the bench?

Also, 48 tubes at 2800 lumens per, works out to less than 100 lumens per sq. ft., which is a bit low for any fine work.

Yes

I am running conduit and since the fixtures have the plug, just going to have a duplex outlet for them to plug into

Just even coverage

botom left corner running 1/3rd the way up the left side

Thats kinda why I was thinking about a row of lights running the length of the left wall for times I need extra light or dont need to turn on the rest of them.

I think alot of guys would agree you can never have too much lighting (you can always turn off some lights). I have 30X40X10 and have 14 - 24" four bulb t-8 fixtures on 3 switches and think I should have had more lights. If your going to finish the interior with white metal it helps reflect the light, my 2 cents

Still might do some extra lights around the work bench and welding area.

Also I forgot about the radiant tube heater, thats the blue thing in the middle


How many different circuits should I use?

I like that layout better.
I'd put them on four switches. Divide the receptacles however you wish.
