40hp/80hp Rotary Phase Converter
For sale or trade: Kay Industries Phasemaster MA-7-R rotary phase converter. This is a monster converter built on a 75HP 365T motor and will start and run a single motor up to 40HP and run a maximum total load of 80HP. Comes with factory built fusing and disconnect so hook up is 2 wires in and 3 wires out and that’s it. This was a custom configuration built to run this HP on 230V single phase instead of the usual 460V, and it can be run off a 125A single phase breaker for minimal loads.
Cost over $6,000 new I’m looking for $2,200 or trade for a 10-20hp Phase Perfect, Ronk add-a-phase, VFD/vector drive for 10-20hp load, or quality commercially made 20hp RPC. If anyone is looking to upgrade and wants to trade out their old system I’m happy to send this on to someone who can use all of its grunt in exchange for something that fits my needs better. As the Kay Industries rep said to me, sure you could wire it up and use it, but it would be like using a sledge hammer to drive in a tac. If anyone has a sledgehammer kind of job to do, drop me a line.
