Hi everyone, I’ve been lurking around for some time mostly reading about tool related recommendations and such. Decided to come in and say hi.

I’m in Seattle WA, working as a Software Engineer by day, and have just recently picked up doing this and that basic maintenance on two “new to me” but long out of warranty Fords (pandemic impulse purchases) to learn something new during pandemic life.

Ups and downs, many expletives and good laughs — top of the world after conquering (fear of) serpentine belts; to the holy **** moment after realizing I’ve pulled the transmission fluid instead of the engine oil on a my sister’s Subaru sedan.

Looking to begin slowly building out a basic long term set up of variety of tools in the garage, looking to learn about different brands, types, care, etc to get started. Slowly will read and browse through the collective knowledge here.

2012 Mustang GT and 2013 F-150 Limited. I’ve always wanted one or the other growing up .. finally (turning 40 in few weeks) got around to getting myself both — truck during the pandemic and the Mustang shortly before.

The Mustang has been really trouble free, other than the sway bar bushings which were worn out from day one (to me) which made noises — wife asks “did you buy a clunker?!”.

The truck has seen significant more miles, or maybe it’s the turbo boosted engine .. I’ve had low oil pressure light on (which turned out to be benign, sensor was bad) and last two weekends I’m wrestling with it leaking oil from brake booster vacuum pump which I cannot take apart for the life of me — I rounded one of the bolts .. sigh

Would love to dare to one day dream about a classic Mustang ..

Nope, it's a coupe, and an AT. It does have a 351C so theres some redemtion from being a v8 car.
I was just at a guys place today who has done many coupe to fastback conversions, he wanted to buy my car.
It may have rekindled my interest to get it driving again, but I have many other more pressing projects to deal with first.
