50' attic trusses ???

I’m just in my design stage of my shop and wondering if anyone has 50’ span attic trusses in there shop as the truss company is saying it will not work thanks for your help

And the reason..... Or their reason...... for it not working would be.......? I'm no expert but I have seen trusses spanning greater widths than 50' although I could not say if it had attic space.

You can span the 50', but given the nature of the construction, I seriously doubt anyone would sign off on giving it attic space unless you went with steel trusses.

Prob can with regular trusses but attic trusses are a different deal. You are allowing a center space to carry weight of storage. I would visit several lumber yards and truss companies. The trusses are designed by computer and will show what spans you can do without posts. Trust the computers on this one

I have a 40 x 60. Trusses span 40 feet. They are attic trusses rated as a living space. 10' wide x 7' high by 60' long space right down the middle.

Make the building taller and bigger. You can frame out your own 2nd floor wherever you want whenever you want.
