and one of the graphics artists on another forum saw fit to modify the picture at my expense, saying I should be more cautious about taking pictures with mirrors in the background.

Yeah right, Just come clean, we will support you in your alternative lifestyle.

got a nice used 55g barrel with a lid and clamp for $15 at the local farm feed store. originaly had soap in it

always better to be safe!

I recently picked up a couple of 80 gal plastic drums with screw on lids for $20 each at a similar type of store. They were once filled with pickled jalapeno peppers, it took about a year for the smell to go away. They are now rain water collection barrels but wouldn't be much use as a burning barrel after the first use. :evil:

Use a manuel deheader on any drums that held unknown susbstances.There is a story of a drum that held windshield washer fluid,:thumbup: it blew up.

I have read about removing the lids (in Farmshow magazine) with a pipewrench and hammer. Open the jaws so they fit over the edge of the drum and hit with a hammer. It'll shear open the lid, just work your way around the lid.
Thank you. I tried this the other day and it worked great. Went fairly quickly, gave my forearms a workout, and left a clean result.
