Florida Garage

Temp range is from 55 (lowest it gets in winter) to 100 at summertime peak.

Thinking of putting in either a wall mount a/c or just a dehumidifier.

Walls are slat wall

Race deck flooring

11 foot ceiling with insulated crawl space above

Any suggestions/tips/ etc? Garage is 440 sq ft

Thanks

Which is cheaper?
Those small AC units are getting pretty low buck.
Either way, I think the biggest thing you are going to feel is lower humidity.

I'm 95% of the way done installing a mini split AC unit in my garage. Living on the Gulf coast, my feeling is that it would be a shame to spend the money upgrading my garage and then have it be too hot to go out there in the summer. And summer is like 6 months long....

I just put a Sears window unit through the wall in my standard 2-car garage. 18k cool/13k heat for $549. It heats the garage up quickly even with the outside temp in the 20s. I expect it'll keep it comfortable enough to work this summer as well.

A/C Units inherently dehumidify anyways. Might as well go A/C and get the best of both. Especially on those 100+ degree garage days. You're gonna appreciate some nice cool air.
