Don't think there was. I'll have to start the thread up again and see what happens, lol
What about sending me a link to it so I can check and perhaps open it again if that is what you would like.

This looks familiar.I would have only given out limited information, then wait for the answer you wanted and cut off all other responses other than the response you wanted to hear, then when you got that one correct response, then claim victory as you "leave the field" and then state that only that one person got it, and you got your answer, and thank you to everyone even thought they didn't give the correct answer.
This looks real familiar. You would have to first assume there was an actual answer. The vast majority of threads, at least in FP never get one.

I think a lot of people are still scratching their heads, and yelling at the computer screen! This is classic. But you forgot one....There was a thread about people not reading, and it got closed, presumably because it wasn’t productive and it hit a little to close to home.
I said it then and I’ll say it here too. Some members are really, really smart on this forum, but some I truly wonder if they’ve ever progressed beyond coloring books.
The inability of people to read and comprehend on here is confined to a one sentence post, anything more and you’ll never get anything useful. I take that into consideration when posting as a topic started. Just assume your audience is a group of 3rd graders. Seriously
Again, I think some people on here are brilliant and others, well...not quite? lol.
Here’s the link

MYea, it's actually one of the few annoying things about garage journal is that people don't even read the original question. It's amazing when I read some of the answers to questions on here. I am 100% positive people have no idea how to read more than one sentence and I've even gone so far as to take that into account when posting. I have to think about what people will actually read vs. expressing the depth of the question. Yes/no questions are usually pretty okay, or even when given choices A,B or C, but get too far off that formula and you're asking for "random thoughts of the day".
Question: I need to cross the river, and it's deep and choppy and about a 1.4 mile wide. I've been thinking about doing it in an inner tube, However, it can't be a boat.
Answer: Have you thought about a boat?
Next reply: Yea, a good fiberglass boat with a 50hp Evinrude
Next reply: No, you don't want a 50hp Evinrude, you need a 50hp Mercury
Next reply: That too small, get a 100hp dual engine whaler
Next reply: No, you need a private yacht with an inboard/outboard and a crew
Next reply: Have you thought about Carnival Cruise lines to get you across.
Next reply: Carnival Cruise lines don't have the all night buffet, you should take Royal Caribbean.
Next reply: I was on Royal Caribbean and the dingy's on that thing looked well built
Next reply: My brother in law was a dingy, but he was in the Navy
Next reply: I was in merchant marines, and he should build a skiff
Next reply: How about building a tension bridge
Oh, look...squirrel
That's pretty much it in a nutshelly contribution to that discussion...
And all this after one or more persons already answered the question accurately.

I can't send a link. I can't even see the thread anymore. It isn't just locked, it completely disappeared. I sent a PM to a moderator(can't remember which one) and never got a response. The title of the thread was "Interview the person below you." It was just an innocent game thread similar to "word association" or the "The one word song title transference game"
OK, Got it. Sadly I can see it went off topic in a big way, so just be happy you are not associated with it any more.

Thank the Lords of Kobol that a moderator heard my cries and pulled the thread.
I think Parrothead has part of it right with the coloring book metaphor.
I also think there are those who have pent-up frustrations and anger that they cannot express face-to-face in everyday life, so they find a safe victim from behind a keyboard and let loose.
Then there are those within whose life no one wants to hear their opinion, from co-workers to spouse to children. Here they can voice an opinion. Doesn't matter if it answers the OP's question or has even the slightest relevance. Being able to comment is power.

Don't think there was. I'll have to start the thread up again and see what happens, lol
Damn I must have missed that. Sounds like someone didn't like the game and sabotaged it. I was replying pretty consistently and when I got up one morning it was gone.![]()
I wonder if it is possible to add a "close this thread" button, that the OP could use when a question has been answered?
For example, I started a thread yesterday asking about cutting a railroad tie.
By post 17, I had an answer and made a decision.
At post 32, I repeated that I had an answer, and thanked the other Posters.
By post 38, another poster asked if the thread could be put to bed.
At post 41, I asked if a Mod could close the thread.
By post 42, I was basically being insulted.
I don't mind being ribbed, but so many of these folks don't read the thread, they just jump in, long after there is a resolution.
It would save a little bit of bandwidth and wasted time if there was a button a OP could use to request a Thread Closure.
Just a thought.
Waiting to be flamed, now.![]()
