A fair price?

Aside from the obvious markings the only others are a small number 20 beneath the rear jaw and a number 13 or 43 under the front jaw on the other side. Jaws are 5". The asking price is $45.oo. Is it worth it?

Thanks much. I already have a HF vise but was looking to upgrade and thought this might be a decent refurb project. Maybe I'll just stand down and wait until a better grade Wilton or similar quality unit presents itself.

Really? Just curious about how you know that from a picture. And even if it is China made, do you have any links to where you can buy the equivalent for that kind of money?

It's well known that this model is a Chinese boat anchor. There are many threads on it here. Dig around. You'll see many people finding out after the fact that their, "Wilton" is no better than a Horrible Fright vise.

You can also go to any big box store and look at the box they come in. Made in China. You can find the equivalent quality junk there too.

If you want a fantastic quality vise for the same money, USA made, then get on the flea market circuit, Craigslist, LetGo or hit the local garage sales/auctions. I would also read through the vise thread here to learn about what to look for and what to avoid.
