It's easy to get caught up in the echo chamber that is GJ. There are a few canards that are often repeated over and over again, but as I get older the only thing I'm more sure of is that things are rarely as black and white as they seem.

I encourage everyone to try and take what they read here with a grain of salt. For example, as much as people talk about "cheap foreign ****" you'd think that anything not made in the US of A is worthless trash. My own experience has been that even the "junk" that Lowe's sells is quite often extremely good compared to how cheap it is. When you consider that you can buy a Milwaukee power tool for the price of a fancy dinner, that's nothing short of amazing.

I've said this before, but you know those round head import ratchets that come with the cheap tool sets? In my searches for used tools I see them often. Some are broken, but i have seen some that have the handle bent from a cheater bar, but the ratchet mechanism still works. This does not mean IMO that they would stand up to regular use in a shop but theyare not completely bad.

Opinions are like **** holes. Everyone has one and they all stink. Some worse than others.

Wouldn't regular use mean they were not bent from cheater bars? That's considered ABuse. :dunno:

They are mostly junk though...
