acid stain floor

I am getting ready and planning my process for staining and sealing my work shop slab. I am a little nervous about the acid stain process. Choosing a color is difficult and I am not sure how I should apply it. I want a light color in which You can kind of see the concrete under it. I am thinking either amber or a very light olive or a mixture. I am also thinking that I want it to be kind of even not really wild variation. I have searched on here and cant find much info. Can any one give any ideas, tips or personal experience?

i did my floors with acid stain, remember the stain is a salt that react with the portland cement, the acid weaken the top layer so the salt can migrate in. different salts will turn different colors. and the colors will be according to how much cement in the concrete. YOU CANNOT PREDICT THE COLOR. if you pick brown, it will come out brown but what shade you cannot predict. I pick saddle tan for mine and i had so much cement, mine came out dark brown. its looks good but YOU CANT PREDICT THE SHADE.

so what you do, keep eye on it , you can always go darker but you cant lighten it, so once it get close, netrualize the acid and wash the slab. if it still too light you can add more stain and make it darker. YOU CANNOT GO LIGHTER.

only advise i can give you. dont put a sherwin william clear epoxy on top. that product *****, go with another brand of clear epoxy.
