Air compressor accessory ecommendations

Didn't bother to read ALL the posts...but guys, let me tell you this, if your going to use steel pipe, use GALVANIZED. You can use black, but when used in a commercial/industrial setting, black is always over-sized when used because of the rust that develops on the INSIDE of the pipe, which RESTRICTS the flow, hence the Over-size-ing. You won't have this problem with galvanized (zinc) coated pipe. Sure you'll get a bit of rust at the fittings, but you won't notice it, and the "Lie" that you'll get tiny bits of zinc out the end of the hose is malarky.

On my 60 gallon IR, I knocked the 2" bushing out, and piped mine with 2" iron pipe, after a stainless braided flex, tied into a T with a drip leg.

What water separators are people using and how are they working out for you?

I'm looking at the TP Tools piping kit. Seems like an easy way to get everything I need to get started, but not sure if the value and quality are there?

I bought the Ingersoll Rand combination water trap/filter and regulator in ½" NPT for the primary filter and use an inexpensive Campbell Hausfield water separator mounted directly on my blast cabinet. The CH filter seems to work just as well as the more expensive IR separator.
I've bought fittings and valves from TP and they are just as good as anyones.

Starting at the compressor, use a 3/4" ball valve, then 3/4" hard lines, either black pipe or copper or an air line kit, just don't use PVC. Use flexible hose between the compressor and the hard line. Ingersoll Rand makes a good line of filters and water separators. www.tptools.com has some good diagrams on how to plumb, and where to place the filters and water separators.

Now worries if you've used black iron, no biggie-you got it done, and thats what counts, BUT! If you ain't bought yet, buy galvy, less worries down the line-more air flow. Cu is so expensive now...it works great, either soft-soldered or silver soldered, it'll never rust. Don't have much experience with any of the newer plastic air lines, always thought worsbo would work, why not?? As long as you stay within the working specs, why not, it ain't brittle.

I talked to TP tools and they recommended a water separator kit for air tools. Once I start painting or using a plasma he said I should add the coalescing filter.
