I have received a motor to replace the one that I have now. Same size and speed 5hp. 1745 rpm single phase.
The replacement is a used unit that was taken out of service for unknown reason. So I'd like to get it running to see if it is a worthy replacement. Seems like a good upgrade so far. But the issue is that the motor is missing 1 of the start capacitors, and wires that connect. So here I am.
This is a Baldor 5hp, 1725rpm, 1ph. FDL3612TM. The run capacitor is 30mf/370V, and the existing start cap is 216-259UF/250v. I assume that the start caps are the same value, so I have received 2 start caps 216-259UF, and a run 30mf. Probably have wrongly noted between UF and mf. Sorry.
Since there was a missing cap when I received the motor I have to figure out how to wire the replacement caps. I ordered and received a set of cheap Amazon caps. Probably not the best, but a starting point. My issue is obviously the missing cop wiring. The Baldor sheet says that "Multiple Capacitors are connected in parallel"
My question is where does wire #1 go? Terminal #2, or #3 in my poorly drawn paint drawing.
