Hello everyone,

I own a Chicago Pneumatic (USA Made) 26 gallon air compressor. The model number is RCP 226VP. Today, while unplugging it, the ground prong snapped off. It's worth noting that my air compressor can run at 120v or 240v. Where can I buy a replacement cable that can handle both voltages? Is it simple to replace power cables?

Thanks!
Matt

You cannot buy a replacement cable that can handle both voltages. The plug ends are different for 120/240V and the voltage is set by the motor wiring. You can open the wiring cover on the motor and set it for 240V if you wish and then put the appropriate plug end on the existing wire. You can replace the 120V plug end with something from Lowe's or Home Depot for about $5. If you want a factory plug end, you can contact Chicago Pneumatic and they will sell you a new cord. Quincy, NAPA, and Chicago Pneumatic compressors are all the same in this size, you if you wanted to cross reference, you could choose who you contact. Most folks would simply buy a new plug end for $5 or run it without the ground.

Ok, thanks for the information. I've been running at 120V so I will look for a replacement 120V cable.
