I recently acquired this air compressor and now I need to get the right attachments for it. Hitachi AC I have a 1/2inch air hose to go with it but no way to attach the hose to the air compressor. I want to use a quick connect on the hose to the air compressor and then a quick connect for a blow gun and tire inflater. I have no idea what size connecters I need to attach the 1/2" line to the air compressor. The hose is 1/2" so would the ends of the hose be 3/8"? I believe the female part of the air compressor is 1/4" so would I need a connector that is 1/4" female to into the air compressor and then on the other side be 3/8" to fit into the air hose? Someone PLEASE help me so I can start using the air compressor for detailing. Thanks

hmm.... Well for that 1/2 hose is total overkill. You use 3/8 hose with diegrinders, impacts, ratchets, sanders and these are all tools that need like 20+ cfm... that compressor puts out 4. IF you are just going to be inflating tires and using a blow gun, Get a 1/4 id coilhose from home depot. the 25foot one is like $13 they are fairly cheap and easy to store. Then, get one 1/4 body and 1/4 male thread quick connect, one 1/4 female thread plug for one end of the hose, and a 1/4 coupler for the other end. Grab as many 1/4 male plugs as you need for your current atatchements.

You did say you want to use this compressor for detailing, but dont expect it to run any air tools. It was intended to run a nailer or two, not a polisher or die grinder.

hope this helps
