Air Compressors

We are looking to upgrade our 22 gal coleman air compressor into a 60 gal. Does anyone have any opinions on Sanborn, Kobalt or Husky 60 gallon aircompressors. He is a mechanic and I drill bottles. We need enough power to do both. Also are these loud? The one we have right now we can not talk to each other because the compressor is so loud. Please help. We've been looking for 3 years.

First off you shouldn't be using an air drill for the bottles. That uses a tremendous amount of air and isn't as good as using the newer battery powered drills. I have been a mechanic for That reason years. I have a 20volt Dewalt lithium ion battery powered drill. It's an animal and it will fit up to 1/2in bits. As far as compressors go. Depends on the amount he's using or what type of automotive work he does. An upright 60 gallon air compressor can be expensive. I would start with cambell hausfield. Northern tool and equipment has them. Also sometimes sears has smaller Ingersoll rand compressors which is what I have. It is very quiet it also is a twin cylinder compressor with cast iron cylinders. That was 500. It wasn't 60 gallon tho. But if you take your drilling out of the equation it should be plenty for him to use for mechanical work. Hope that helps.
