An Old Newbie (here)

Hi, I'm Bob, a retired shop teacher who just reached the magic age of 70. During the 40+ years of teaching I covered, woodworking, drafting, graphic arts, electricity/electronics, welding, metal shop, power mechanics, construction tech, and communication tech. I've built 2 houses and done considerable other carpentry work during summer breaks.

My next project is to build a pole building that is suitable for housing my CUT and other yard equipment, etc. I've been in the process of checking out the possibilities and came upon this forum which could be quite helpful over time.

Hi Bob, welcome aboard. I am not quite up to par with your age, I am only 68, but hoping for 70 if the creek don't rise. I am retired US Army, 30 years, and now fully retired and a shop piddler. Hope to see your pole barn grow.

I know just enough to get me in trouble, often! ...I'm a 66 year old retired industrial Tinsmith (retired 10 years now!) and taught apprentices for over 20 years. I built my pole building (my shop) a year after I retired but, didn't build it big enough (are they ever?). Welcome to GJ and good luck with your build.

Hi Doug,

I am also a Dec. (middle of the month) baby. Born and raised in NH and living in Indiana since age 27 except '76-'79. I've been in and around Lafayette for the past 24 years. Thanks for the for the welcome
