I prefer the metal version, but this is definitely worth it.

Was gonna get one but the reviews are terrible.

They said that it was a cheap knock-off and plastic is so thin, that it breaks with almost any usage. People say it is not even worth the $3.

I was trying to find a good USA version of this tool but came up empty handed. Anybody know of one?

I know it's probably more time than it's worth, but a few pieces of wood, some time on a saw and router, some thumbscrews and some thin hex nuts. Bingo, made in the USA version that will probably last a lifetime.
