I believe those are more commonly used in aircraft fab for clamping AL parts together prior to drilling and riveting

I used to work for a company that manufactured filtration housings. Everything from pleated filters to deisel to gas turbines as big as a two story house. Some of the fab lines for the sheet metal enclosures used these for vertical clamping slid into fixed vertical receivers so the spot welder could access both sides of the assembly. I'm sure there's a more official name for them, but that's what we called'em.

Yeah makes sense. Toggle clamp. I fabricate mesh panels and partitions and we use them to square the mesh up with the panel. I know it's missing a spring. It doesn't properly lock up.

Jeremy V.- Thank you for the instructions on returning old clamps to use! I find quite a few of these at the flea markets near me. I assume De-Sta-Co (Detroit Stamping Company) was based somewhere in the city at one point and probably made a mint when we were an industrial city.

I use de-sta-co's all the time in the woodshop for jigs. had no idea it stood for Detroit Stamping Company...
