Bringing this back from the dead.

Has anyone purchased / found any recent products that stand out from the others. As far as specific vehicles we are all over the place and would "like" to have a tool to cover them all, but realize the B car may be a problem. TPMS is not as important as we already have a standalone tool that handles that.

The Thinkcar 689 and 689BT are the only (that I've heard of) full bidirectional control scan tools that comes with free lifetime updates. This is a big deal in the scan tool world (in my opinion, anyway) as it will set a new standard for the industry to eventually end paid subscriptions.

It may take a while but if you had a choice between two different scan tools that both had the exact same capabilities.... one charged an annual subscription fee and the other does not, which one would you buy? And with dozens of companies selling scan tools these days, it's a race to the bottom to be the cheapest option on Amazon.
