Anyone build a Mini Golf Hole in their Backyard?

I was wondering if anyone here has built their own Mini Golf Hole in their Backyard?

I have a space beside my house that is 8 feet wide by 25 Feet long, and I was considering pouring a cement foundation and covering this area with some nice quality Astro-Turf and having 2-3 Holes for the kids to putt into.

Anyone build anything similar?

When I first started as a drug-rep, where golf is "half the game", I was gonna do a lot of practicing - so had full plans to build a green and bunker in my backyard....

Luckily, I came to my effing senses and built a shop instead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I shudder at the amount of time I could have wasted practicing my shot - instead, I have a '67 Galaxie convertible, a '74 Challenger, '46 Merc truck, '71 240Z, a shop full of tools...... and a life!!!

My grandfather had a putting green in his basement. It was about 15' by 40'. As kids, we used to love visiting this big old house, and used the putting green all the time. It was a raised wood platform covered in astro turf. But my grandfather took golf pretty seriously, so he was always there to teach us proper technique. To this day, I can't play golf at all, but I can putt really well.

I'm curious as well, the wife and her family are golf nuts and I would like to be able to keep up. Being able to putt consistently would help that a lot. I can think of a simple setup using plywood and astroturf (or outdoor carpet). This would allow it to be put away/dismantled easily. However, I would like something that mimics actual golf holes and has curves. Anybody have any ideas? Come on, don't be shy.

I think it would be pretty easy to build a mini-golf style hole. Once you have cement down, you'd probably want to build wood frames for the holes, and then put turf over that. Then build a windmill or go find a giant clown head lol.

The challenge would be building something more realistic. I'm a 4 handicap, and I think practicing on anything less than a real green wouldn't help me at all. It would be fun for kids though.

There's a company called southwest greens that a lot of pros use for their backyards, but I'm sure they're really expensive.
