3/4 drive Blackhawk ratchet, 20" long. IS NOT MARKED with country of origin, just the part number and the Blackhawk name.

It "LOOKS" Chinese, but has the dull, rough finish chrome typical of Blackhawk and the ratchet mechanism is black industrial finish.

If it were made in USA it would be stamped on the ratchet.

Not according to Snap-on...

While Blackhawk still has USA made tools, I think the ratchets might all be "assembled in the USA with global components."

I just got a new one a couple months ago directly from Proto as a warranty replacement. It was labeled as assembled in the USA.

I know this is an old thread and most likely it won't be looked I've also noticed no country of origin on the Blackhawk 69945b which makes me suspect that it's made overseas but what really confuses me on that is it has the New Britain killness patent which by my understanding was never taken overseas for the fact of the high cost of Machining the mechanisms so which makes me wonder if they just didn't stamp the country of origin on the ratchet I've seen plenty of examples of these and it just makes me wonder the only thing I can think of is when New Britain become defunct in 1990 Stanley bought all of new Britain's inventory so maybe they had leftover 3/4 inch mechanisms and they just had the ratchet handle made overseas and installed the mechanism later I really don't know if anybody reads this and has better insight I would appreciate it

Of the four Blackhawk 69945B units currently listed on ebay, none have any markings other than the part number, and none of them appear to be the standard old "Kilness patent" design, so I cannot even begin to address your question.

Do you have a photo of one of the units you're asking about?

Stanley also acquired National Hand Tool in Dallas, Texas about the same time they acquired New Britain Machine Co. There is extant evidence that suggests the "Kilness patent" (2981389) ratchets were manufactured there as well.

Lucky for us one of the eBay listings for the Blackhawk 69945B does show the ratchet with the selector plate removed. It looks to be a killness mechanism. I do wonder if it was foreign made for one reason. The selector plate is held on by a screw and from what I have seen the US made ratchets did not do that. Hopefully someone who is more familiar with the New Britain made 3/4 ratchets can confirm whether or not the US made ratchets ever had the selector plate held on by the screw.Blackhawk69945bmech.png
