Oliver Model 34 DD Double disc sander. Serial #50177, which puts it in the middle to late 40's.

5 hp., 3 phase, 220/440 volts, 2-30" dia. discs, Machine has been stripped down, every nut and bolt polished, all surfaces cleaned, new bearings, repainted and re-assembled. Machine was going to go into my shop, but no room. Has been stored in my garage and needs a good home. It is a great machine, they don't build them like this anymore. Has been test run, and is whisper quiet.

As far as the 3 PH, nothing a phase converter or even better a VFD couldn't solve. Now as to the price, I got nothing.

Jake, be honest, you were using "polished nuts" as a search term and you just got lucky that a 34 DD tool popped up... Hahaha.

It's the 3-phase that's a killer. Well, that and the price, haha.

Actually 3-phase is a big advantage in this particular case. 3-phase motors are more robust than single phase (3ph == no internal centrifugal switch mechanism to go wrong). Because this particular machine has an odd specialty motor, and you _don't_ want to break it and have to look for a replacement. Therefore, given the choice, you want a 3-phase, more indestructable motor on it. If you can't power it, then add a phase converter or a VFD (and make it a variable speed sander in that case).
