Its got dual quad core Intel Xeon L5420 2.5ghz cpu's with 12mb cache each. Thats 8 cores and 24mb cache, and 16gb ram. They don't come with any drives, but you can stick 4 sata drives in there. Dual gigabit nics on the front.. actually all the ports are on the front since these are half depth rackable systems servers, but if you need a decent amount of processing power in a small package, it doesn't get much better than this.
I picked one up for $232 shipped, and I set it up as a Plex media server so I would have a dedicated machine to transcode 720p HD matroska files for playback on a variety of devices around the house. I can pull up a movie on my server from my iphone, droid tablet, windows and mac pc's, or even across the net through a web browser
