I use the dessicant packs that you get in anything and toss them in the drawers of my boxes, and on my machinist tool, I will spritz some WD40 on things to further protect. I have yet to have a problem. And on some specialty tool, I will spritz down a white clean shoprag with WD40 and then wrap the tool up with the rag. Again...no problems with moisture of rust.
