I have the opportunity to buy an ARCAN mobile crane (engine hoist) for $120 off of CL. I do not plan to use it to remove engines but general lifting. I am hoping to make a mount that I can take the topper off my truck by sliding the arm in from the back and lifting the topper up. I plan to use wood (or PVC) to make some arms that reach out and spread the weight. I also hope to us it to hold up some metal siding that I plan to use for the ceiling. I have a scaffold to help with the ceiling as well.
I like the unit because it was made in USA. My question is are there any areas of concern I should look at before purchasing the unit?
